Job description
Role overview: The Computer Systems Analyst - Travel Services is based in Kansas City, Missouri and supports booking workflows, traveler support, and supplier coordination. This position combines hands-on execution with reliable documentation and collaboration across operational and technical teams.
Responsibilities: Map business processes, assess application gaps, write system requirements, and coordinate acceptance testing. Apply these responsibilities to booking workflows, traveler support, and supplier coordination. Work with process owners to manage schedule changes and maintain accurate customer communication histories. Identify problems early, record the evidence behind recommendations, and coordinate handoffs so agreed work is completed accurately.
ROLE-SPECIFIC RESPONSIBILITIES
Map the complete reservation lifecycle, from availability searches and itinerary changes to cancellations, refunds, and supplier settlement. Interview reservation agents and finance users to distinguish configuration issues from integration defects. Translate findings into field mappings, acceptance criteria, and prioritized change requests. Use SQL to reconcile booking records across connected systems and explain discrepancies without exposing traveler information.
Qualifications: 2+ years of relevant professional experience or equivalent demonstrated project work. Demonstrated capability in requirements elicitation, process mapping, SQL, and system integration. Experience supporting travel services is preferred. Ability to document decisions, communicate clearly, and handle business information responsibly.
ADDITIONAL QUALIFICATIONS
Candidates should be able to explain how they have used requirements elicitation, process mapping, SQL, and system integration in practical work. Relevant experience may come from employment, consulting engagements, apprenticeships, or substantial projects. Bring examples of how you resolved an operational problem, checked the accuracy of your work, and communicated a recommendation to colleagues with different responsibilities. Familiarity with the industry is valuable, and the ability to learn unfamiliar processes and ask precise questions is equally important.
FIRST 90 DAYS
Deliver a documented current-state booking workflow, an agreed backlog of integration improvements, and a user acceptance plan for the highest-priority change. During onboarding, review existing documentation, meet the people who depend on this role, and confirm priorities with your manager. Agree on a realistic delivery plan, record dependencies, and share progress regularly. Success will be evaluated through the quality of completed work, reliable follow-through, and improvements to the specific process or service assigned to you.
WORKING RELATIONSHIPS
Work collaboratively with operational stakeholders and subject-matter experts. Keep decisions, unresolved questions, and handoffs documented so others can continue work without unnecessary delays. Raise conflicting priorities early and propose practical next steps. Maintain confidentiality and use approved systems when handling customer, employee, or business information.
Work arrangement: Full-Time, On-site in Kansas City, Missouri. Estimated annual cash compensation: USD 90,000 to 121,500.
