Job description

Role overview: The Software Quality Assurance Analyst - Telecommunications is based in Kansas City, Missouri and supports service activation, network support, and subscriber communications. This position combines hands-on execution with reliable documentation and collaboration across operational and technical teams. Responsibilities: Translate requirements into test cases, automate regression checks, investigate defects, and document release risks. Apply these responsibilities to service activation, network support, and subscriber communications. Work with process owners to account for provisioning dependencies and document changes affecting customers. Identify problems early, record the evidence behind recommendations, and coordinate handoffs so agreed work is completed accurately. ROLE-SPECIFIC RESPONSIBILITIES Build test coverage for telecommunications provisioning, account changes, billing interfaces, and service-support workflows. Convert requirements into positive, negative, boundary, and regression scenarios. Exercise APIs, compare database records, and reproduce defects with clear evidence and expected results. Test failure handling when downstream services are unavailable. Work with developers and product owners to distinguish release-blocking issues from lower-risk defects and document release readiness. Qualifications: 2+ years of relevant professional experience or equivalent demonstrated project work. Demonstrated capability in test planning, API testing, defect tracking, and SQL. Experience supporting telecommunications is preferred. Ability to document decisions, communicate clearly, and handle business information responsibly. ADDITIONAL QUALIFICATIONS Candidates should be able to explain how they have used test planning, API testing, defect tracking, and SQL in practical work. Relevant experience may come from employment, consulting engagements, apprenticeships, or substantial projects. Bring examples of how you resolved an operational problem, checked the accuracy of your work, and communicated a recommendation to colleagues with different responsibilities. Familiarity with the industry is valuable, and the ability to learn unfamiliar processes and ask precise questions is equally important. FIRST 90 DAYS Establish a repeatable regression suite for a critical service workflow and improve defect reproducibility and release reporting. During onboarding, review existing documentation, meet the people who depend on this role, and confirm priorities with your manager. Agree on a realistic delivery plan, record dependencies, and share progress regularly. Success will be evaluated through the quality of completed work, reliable follow-through, and improvements to the specific process or service assigned to you. WORKING RELATIONSHIPS Work collaboratively with operational stakeholders and subject-matter experts. Keep decisions, unresolved questions, and handoffs documented so others can continue work without unnecessary delays. Raise conflicting priorities early and propose practical next steps. Maintain confidentiality and use approved systems when handling customer, employee, or business information. Work arrangement: Full-Time, On-site in Kansas City, Missouri. Estimated annual cash compensation: USD 88,500 to 120,000. APPLICATION DETAILS Applications close November 2, 2027. Staffing agency submissions are welcome. Submit a resume that describes relevant responsibilities, tools used, and measurable outcomes. The hiring organization is confidential during the initial application stage.
