Job description

Role overview: The Public Relations Manager - Transportation Services is based in Meridian, Idaho and supports route coordination, delivery exceptions, and customer updates. This position combines hands-on execution with reliable documentation and collaboration across operational and technical teams. Responsibilities: Lead communication strategy, review public statements, guide media response, and supervise communications delivery. Apply these responsibilities to route coordination, delivery exceptions, and customer updates. Work with process owners to account for changing schedules and operational handoffs between locations. Identify problems early, record the evidence behind recommendations, and coordinate handoffs so agreed work is completed accurately. ROLE-SPECIFIC RESPONSIBILITIES Lead communications supporting transportation operations, service changes, and organizational reputation. Build relationships with relevant media, prepare spokesperson briefs, and coordinate announcements with operational leadership. Maintain approved facts and response materials for service disruptions. Monitor coverage, assess emerging issues, and recommend timely communication actions. Coach contributors on editorial standards and measure whether communications reach intended audiences with accurate, useful information. Qualifications: 5+ years of relevant experience, including ownership of a team, budget, or substantial service program. Demonstrated capability in reputation management, editorial judgment, media relations, and people leadership. Experience supporting transportation services is preferred. Ability to document decisions, communicate clearly, and handle business information responsibly. ADDITIONAL QUALIFICATIONS Candidates should be able to explain how they have used reputation management, editorial judgment, media relations, and people leadership in practical work. Relevant experience may come from employment, consulting engagements, apprenticeships, or substantial projects. Bring examples of how you resolved an operational problem, checked the accuracy of your work, and communicated a recommendation to colleagues with different responsibilities. Familiarity with the industry is valuable, and the ability to learn unfamiliar processes and ask precise questions is equally important. FIRST 90 DAYS Review key audiences and response procedures, build an editorial plan, and establish a practical process for coordinated service-disruption communications. During onboarding, review existing documentation, meet the people who depend on this role, and confirm priorities with your manager. Agree on a realistic delivery plan, record dependencies, and share progress regularly. Success will be evaluated through the quality of completed work, reliable follow-through, and improvements to the specific process or service assigned to you. WORKING RELATIONSHIPS Work collaboratively with operational stakeholders and subject-matter experts. Keep decisions, unresolved questions, and handoffs documented so others can continue work without unnecessary delays. Raise conflicting priorities early and propose practical next steps. Maintain confidentiality and use approved systems when handling customer, employee, or business information. Work arrangement: Full-Time, On-site in Meridian, Idaho. Estimated annual cash compensation: USD 125,000 to 169,000. APPLICATION DETAILS Applications close November 2, 2027. Staffing agency submissions are welcome. Submit a resume that describes relevant responsibilities, tools used, and measurable outcomes. The hiring organization is confidential during the initial application stage.
