Job description

Role overview: The Operations Research Analyst - Retail Operations is based in Oklahoma City, Oklahoma and supports store support, product availability, and customer experience. This position combines hands-on execution with reliable documentation and collaboration across operational and technical teams. Responsibilities: Formulate decision models, analyze resource constraints, compare operational scenarios, and explain optimization results. Apply these responsibilities to store support, product availability, and customer experience. Work with process owners to account for seasonal demand and differences between store and online workflows. Identify problems early, record the evidence behind recommendations, and coordinate handoffs so agreed work is completed accurately. ROLE-SPECIFIC RESPONSIBILITIES Develop analytical models that help retail leaders evaluate inventory, staffing, assortment, and store-service tradeoffs. Clean operational data, document assumptions, and compare proposed approaches against current practices. Use optimization or simulation where appropriate, testing sensitivity to demand variability and business constraints. Present recommendations in language decision-makers can use and explain uncertainty. Partner with field teams to evaluate whether proposed changes are operationally feasible. Qualifications: 2+ years of relevant professional experience or equivalent demonstrated project work. Demonstrated capability in optimization, statistics, programming, and decision analysis. Experience supporting retail operations is preferred. Ability to document decisions, communicate clearly, and handle business information responsibly. ADDITIONAL QUALIFICATIONS Candidates should be able to explain how they have used optimization, statistics, programming, and decision analysis in practical work. Relevant experience may come from employment, consulting engagements, apprenticeships, or substantial projects. Bring examples of how you resolved an operational problem, checked the accuracy of your work, and communicated a recommendation to colleagues with different responsibilities. Familiarity with the industry is valuable, and the ability to learn unfamiliar processes and ask precise questions is equally important. FIRST 90 DAYS Validate a decision dataset, build a baseline model for one operational question, and recommend a measurable pilot. During onboarding, review existing documentation, meet the people who depend on this role, and confirm priorities with your manager. Agree on a realistic delivery plan, record dependencies, and share progress regularly. Success will be evaluated through the quality of completed work, reliable follow-through, and improvements to the specific process or service assigned to you. WORKING RELATIONSHIPS Work collaboratively with operational stakeholders and subject-matter experts. Keep decisions, unresolved questions, and handoffs documented so others can continue work without unnecessary delays. Raise conflicting priorities early and propose practical next steps. Maintain confidentiality and use approved systems when handling customer, employee, or business information. Work arrangement: Full-Time, On-site in Oklahoma City, Oklahoma. Estimated annual cash compensation: USD 75,500 to 102,500. APPLICATION DETAILS Applications close November 2, 2027. Staffing agency submissions are welcome.
