Job description

Role overview: The Digital Interface Designer - Travel Services is based in Baltimore, Maryland and supports booking workflows, traveler support, and supplier coordination. This position combines hands-on execution with reliable documentation and collaboration across operational and technical teams. Responsibilities: Research user tasks, create interaction prototypes, maintain design patterns, and evaluate usability. Apply these responsibilities to booking workflows, traveler support, and supplier coordination. Work with process owners to manage schedule changes and maintain accurate customer communication histories. Identify problems early, record the evidence behind recommendations, and coordinate handoffs so agreed work is completed accurately. ROLE-SPECIFIC RESPONSIBILITIES Design digital experiences for travel search, booking, itinerary management, and customer self-service. Translate research findings into user flows, wireframes, interactive prototypes, and clear interface specifications. Consider date selection, pricing transparency, cancellation information, and recovery from errors. Collaborate with engineers to address accessibility, responsive layouts, and reusable components. Validate proposed designs with representative users and explain the reasoning behind design decisions. Qualifications: 2+ years of relevant professional experience or equivalent demonstrated project work. Demonstrated capability in interaction design, prototyping, user research, and accessibility principles. Experience supporting travel services is preferred. Ability to document decisions, communicate clearly, and handle business information responsibly. ADDITIONAL QUALIFICATIONS Candidates should be able to explain how they have used interaction design, prototyping, user research, and accessibility principles in practical work. Relevant experience may come from employment, consulting engagements, apprenticeships, or substantial projects. Bring examples of how you resolved an operational problem, checked the accuracy of your work, and communicated a recommendation to colleagues with different responsibilities. Familiarity with the industry is valuable, and the ability to learn unfamiliar processes and ask precise questions is equally important. FIRST 90 DAYS Evaluate a priority booking journey, test a prototype for a significant usability issue, and deliver implementation-ready design guidance. During onboarding, review existing documentation, meet the people who depend on this role, and confirm priorities with your manager. Agree on a realistic delivery plan, record dependencies, and share progress regularly. Success will be evaluated through the quality of completed work, reliable follow-through, and improvements to the specific process or service assigned to you. WORKING RELATIONSHIPS Work collaboratively with operational stakeholders and subject-matter experts. Keep decisions, unresolved questions, and handoffs documented so others can continue work without unnecessary delays. Raise conflicting priorities early and propose practical next steps. Maintain confidentiality and use approved systems when handling customer, employee, or business information. Work arrangement: Full-Time, On-site in Baltimore, Maryland. Estimated annual cash compensation: USD 88,500 to 119,500. APPLICATION DETAILS Applications close November 2, 2027. Staffing agency submissions are welcome.
